About
Agolde (nickname Gigi), she/her/they/them/you, is an archivist and cultural clerk with a penchant for organisational and administrative apparatus, and a stickler for collecting and arranging systems and structures from the past.
Agolde’s life and work is motivated by the questions: “what can we learn from the past?”, “what has been kept and what has been erased”, “whose stories and ways of working have been brought forward into the future, and whose have been left behind” and “what from the past (both covered and uncovered) can be reconstructed today to bring new insights and meanings in art and society?”. As such, her mind is often simultaneously occupied with the past, the present and the future. A result of this, is Gigi is able to frequently tap into time streams from the past, usually from the year 2022 but all the way up to 2045.
Agolde is ever curious, more-than-slightly eccentric, and extremely personable, mainly due to her believe there is always something to learn from everyone and everything.
Agolde’s life motto is “history doesn’t repeat, but it rhymes”.
